Services
What We Do
Sunnyside Veterinary Clinic is a full-service mixed animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care for small animals, and large animal/equine ambulatory services.
Wellness Exams
Regular wellness checkups help catch problems early, when treatment is most likely to be successful. They also keep pets happy and healthy and can save a lot of money in vet bills in the long run.
Boarding
All pets that are boarded should be current on their vaccinations, heartworm and flea preventive, and be in good health. rabies, canine distemper, and Bordetella (“kennel cough”) vaccines are universally required. You should fully discuss any special medical problems or dietary requirements with the us before boarding your pet here or at any kennel.
Preventative Health Care
Preventive healthcare involves a multi-faceted approach that includes veterinary evaluation of your pet’s overall health and risks of disease or other health problems. Based on the findings, your veterinarian will provide you with recommendations for your pet’s nutrition, dental care, vaccinations and heartworm/flea/tick prevention, as well as recommendations specifically tailored to your pet’s health status and risk factors.
Microchip ID
A microchip is a radio-frequency identification transponder that carries a unique identification number. It’s roughly the size of a grain of rice. When the microchip is scanned by a vet or shelter, it transmits the ID number. There’s no battery, no power required, and no moving parts. The microchip is injected under the loose skin between your pet’s shoulder blades and can be done in our office. It’s no more invasive than a vaccination, and microchips have reunited countless pets with their owners!
Vaccinations
Like people, pets need vaccines. And pet vaccinations, like those for humans, may sometimes require a booster to keep them effective. The best way to stay on schedule with vaccinations for your dog or cat is to maintain regular wellness exams and follow your vetrerinarian’s recommendations for preventive health care.
Prescriptions
You have several options when your pet needs a prescription medication:
- You can get it directly from us whenever it’s in stock.
- If we do not carry it, we can write (or call in) a prescription to a local pharmacy that stocks the medication.
- We can provide a prescription so you can get the medication from an online pharmacy.
